one way to reuse water

Last night we had to scrub the boys down after spending the evening running around the yard after dinner.  Let’s just say there was a definite ring around the tub.  Mr. Miller forever trying to be conscious about reusing everything here grabbed the watering can and headed to the bathroom while I was dressing Henry.  He said he hated to see the water in the tub go to waste.  I couldn’t help but agree.  (My first thought was that I was not going to share their water for my bath.)

He made 8 trips out to the front beds and the plants inside watering.  We were able to use 16 gallons of the water for our plants.  Pretty amazing when you think of how much water just goes down the drain after you bathe your kids.

We just have one of those Green Rubbermaid water cans when I would really love to find some like this!

  1. Makes me think of just putting a shower outside for days like that. You could collect the water into a barrel or something. But what about bacteria and other organisms getting into the plants that you plan to eat? Don't think I am a germaphobe, cuz I'm not, just thinking.....

    1. I actually don't use it in the veggie garden, just the flower beds. :)
