Can it be 10 years already?

It was 10 years ago today that I married my best friend. I told a friend the other day that I love him even more now than before. Isn't it strange how love grows? You think that on your wedding day you are the happiest that you will ever be and can it get any better than that moment? Yes, it can. I am not saying that we are perfect, but we communicate and tell each other daily how much we love each other. Respect is also a big factor, respect each other for your individuality. Remember that had a big part in what brought you together.

Mr. Miller and I were friends for 8 years before we even dated. We met in college at Washburn University and just remained good friends. Honestly during those 8 years if you would have told me that I was going to marry Mr. Miller I would have said, "yeah, right!". I just didn't think of him like that. It all changed one night at a bar. Yes, I know how cliche' but it is the truth. I was out with my best friends Jen and Rob, we were doing fine and then Mr. Miller came up and asked "where I had been all of his life?". He almost got punched until I realized who it was. We talked and talked that night and the rest is history.

I thought I would share some pictures of our special day with you.

My daddy at rehearsal telling me it was not too late, yes he was kidding! Look at the bangs! My I had some big hair. I can't say much for the sweater set and pearls, yes I still where those things. What can I say, I'm practical!

I loved my dress. Mr. Miller did not see me until I walked down the aisle. I have always loved the element of surprise.

My girls, they are all so precious to me. Even though there are many miles between us these days you are all so close to me in my heart. I love you guys!

Oh, my Nate. This is my sweet Nate, he is now 15 and taller than me. Mr. Miller actually had to ask him for approval to marry me. Nate told me I looked like a Princess that day, I know I felt like one. Thanks for the precious memory kid! Nate has always been my little man and will always be. I am sure that is why my little Cameron looks up to him so much.

Well that's it, no turning back. I am pleased to announce Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Miller!

We are ready to face the world one day at a time.

I found a poem for Mr. Miller that I want to share with you.

Someday, many years from now,

we'll look back on this crazy time in our life together and wonder how we did it all...

and then, those ordinary, everyday moments that we often take for granted will shimmer like stars

as we recount them...

I'll sit close beside you, you'll take my hand in yours.

We'll look at each other and say:

"I'd do it all again...

and I wouldn't change a thing."

Thank you Mr. Miller for an amazing 10 years. Here is to the next 10 and so on. I can't imagine my life with anyone but you. I love you and Happy Anniversary.
